AQ website claims British hostage beheaded

Kenneth Bigley, the British-born Iraqi terror hostage, has been murdered, according to a posting on an AQ-associated website.

The claim has been refuted by the UK's Foreign Office in London.

The Web site where the posting appeared has often carried messages from Zarqawi's followers, including gruesome video that showed Hensley and Armstrong being killed. It also showed video on Wednesday of Bigley, 62, begging for his life.

But it is not as prominent as other sites that have aired similar content, and some of its earlier claims have been picked up from elsewhere. It has also carried messages that appeared not to be true, including two shaky claims that two Italian aid workers missing since Sept. 7 were killed.

The Foreign Office in London said it was aware of the claim but described the site as "discredited."

"It's just a posting," a Foreign Office spokeswoman said on customary condition of anonymity. "We can't see there's anything credible in this at all."

The group holding Bigley murdered Americans Eugene Armstrong and Jack Kinsley earlier this week. Video footage of the decapitation of both Americans was posted on the web.

Footage of Bigley pleading for his life was released and shown on the Arabic television network Al Jazeera.

2 I really think its time for the news to show the beheading, the children being shot, our troops being killed, and everylast bombing that take place to let everyone know without a doubt what we are up against. Iam so sick and tired of the media playing into the enemy hands on this kind of stuff. Some where I saw on TV during WW2 the President at that time did it to get people on board.

5 Why don't we praise? I mean seriously think about it,Paul and Silas were in prison by their captors and at midnight of all things they could have done they sang praises to the Lord. God is real and he's powerful, he's not just some nice little dreamy Idea and he's not a respector of persons. Why don't we start praising the Lord and get this man freed!

9 I made a terrible mistake and found and watched the video of the first two men being beheaded and I DO NOT recommend anyone making the same mistake. I am a 57 year old man and I will be haunted by those images for the rest of my life. When I heard on the news that the same happened to Mr. Bigsley I got so full of rage I did not know how to cope with it. My heart goes out to his family.
