Cars by Citroën: Robots in disguise
French auto maker Citroën stopped selling cars in the United States in the 1970s, but they have continued unabated overseas.
Citroën has a new ad campaign for their C4 model based on the old Transformers series that is simply fantastic.
When I pulled it up on my screen, both my teenaged daughter (who's already bugging me for a car) and my pre-teen son (who soon will be) exclaimed, "I want one!"
Alas, though this spot was shot in Vancouver, they're only available in Europe, which means I'm stuck with my kids driving my car.

I thought Europeans were supposed to be for less fuel consumption?
I'll bet that thing has dismal gas mileage.

It looks like one of those Pontiac hatchbacks. With Europeans being so damned smarmy about their record on the environment, I'd think that anything that meets their standards would meet ours. I never understood why you couldn't buy whatever automobile you wanted and bring it here. I know there are emission standards, but it seems like any new car would easily meet them...

Citroen is probably majority-owned by one of the Big Three. I'll try to Google it and find out. Sort of like Jaguar is owned (wholly or mostly) by Ford...which explains why their high-dollar cars look almost exactly like the mediocre automobiles that Ford produces.
