Conservative Christians not welcome in Lake Wobegon

Garrison Keillor, host of American Public Media & NPR's popular A Prairie Home Companion the weekend after the November elections, during a live broadcast:"I am now the chairman of a national campaign to pass a constitutional amendment to take the right to vote away from born-again Christians."Keillor unabashedly claims to be a Democrat, and wears his politics on his sleeve.
According to the University of Chicago Maroon newspaper, Keillor said, "If born-again Christians are allowed to vote in this country, then why not Canadians?"
I guess religious freedom is OK, provided you aren't a conservative and a Christian -- at least in Lake Wobegon.

It's a shame that Keillor is on the left edge of the field, and is so outspoken about his politics. I really like the guy otherwise; he is a wonderful story-teller, and his programs are very funny. Maybe someone can figure out a way to get him to see the light politically.
