Many fault Freeman for not addressing security issues in the Fulton County Courthouse complex.
Brian Nichols is accused of begining his murderous rampage last month at the Fulton County Courthouse, thanks to the lax security there. Four people died during the Nichols crime spree.
The other thing that I've said is that Freeman needs to be kept as far as is humanly possible away from any and all microphones. His verbal presence is lacking, and that's putting it mildly.
Courthouse security is, and has been, a nationwide problem for years. Now they want to blame him for it?

He's only been in the job a few months, after that incompetent what's-her-name had been there for years -- and they're assuming this one courthouse security foul-up is his
I dunno -- I'm not so sure somebody isn't using the Nichols case as an excuse, and a cover for something else. Probably personal, if I've learned anything about Atlanta-Fulton-DeKalb politics.

This is a travesty! I agree with the earlier post, he's only been on the job a few months. Asking for a recall is the equivalant of asking for a recall of George Bush after 9/11.

I work for trhe Fulton County Sheriff's Office and was at the court house after the shootings, trust me a recall is needed.

Since you have the inside scoop, I'd be curious to know why you say a recall is needed.

From an outsider's perspective (I work in the criminal justice field, but not in Fulton), it seems to me the problem is not the shootings itself, but in Freeman's response to said shootings, which do look like CYA all the way. There is little sign from Freeman's office that there need to be any serious changes made about how the sheriff's department handles violent offenders, and keeps track of their own people, in light of the revelation that Deputy Hall hadn't been firearms qualified for some time now.
The shootings were the result of the system set up by previous administrations. Identifying and fixing those problems is wholly Freeman's responsibility, and it's a hugely important job, and I can see why people think Freeman is failing in it.

recall a must for the safety of all
persons living or visiting this once "great City".When will the governor step in and look
at this situation and say enough is enough.

He should be recalled. He was an embarassment to all people during the atlanta courthouse shooting. He can not speak or read!
This would never have happened if he was really quailfied to be sherrif. As far as what he has done for security after the shooting is a joke.

Knowing Myron Freeman, I can say that in my opinion, he is not intelligent enough to handle the job of revising security at the courthouses or functioning as your County Sheriff. Recall him.
