US Senate: Filibuster proceedings, Day Two
The second day (the first full day) of Senate floor testimony on Priscilla Owen and Janice Rogers Brown is underway on Capitol Hill. The two sides are splitting time, an hour at a pop.

Michael,
When was the last time filibusters were used
to block something? I think it was civil rights
legislation in the 1960's. It failed in the long
run. Did Robert Byrd talk 14 hours to block
legislation? The will of the majority won out
over the minority in the 1960's. The liberals
hate Janice Rogers Brown so they portray her
as evil personified! A woman from Arlington,
VA called into Rush today defending her.
She had been neighbor in CA and she said she
was black and mad at the Democrats! Democrats
fight for rights of black people unless they
are conservative.
